American Idol - Brad Pitt sends the crowd wild
Monday, 7 April 2008
Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt sent the crowd wild on Sunday when he appeared onstage for a special charity edition of American Idol.
The show, which is the second annual Idol Gives Back fundraiser, saw many A-listers including Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland make appearances alongside a host of musicians such as Maroon 5 and Carrie Underwood.
But Brad's arrival sent the audience into full-on screaming mode, one member told OK! magazine: "The crowd went wild ... the noise was deafening!"
It had been assumed that the father-to-be's slot on the show would be pre-recorded, but it was smiles all round as he walked onstage at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
And according to the magazine, his microphone did not work at first, meaning the stage manager had to come and fix it.
"I just needed a reason to touch him," Debbie Williams joked.
Idol Gives Back aims to raise awareness and money for six charities across the globe, including Save the Children and Malaria No More.
Meanwhile, the latest contestant to be booted off the show has spoken about her journey on the official website.
Ramiele Malubay said crying was definitely her way of letting off steam but said she had no regrets about her time in the competition.
