America's Next Top Model - Nigel Barker says the show celebrates opportunities

Noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker claimed America's Next Top Model is a celebration of the American dream.
In an interview with the New York staff of Epoch Times, Nigel claimed the show represents a "rags-to-riches" story and reinforces the idea that "everybody has beauty in them".
"You know, there are small flaws here and there, but with the makeover, a bit of spit and polish and some runway training from J Alexander and good art direction from Jay Manuel ... we got an exciting show that people like to watch," he said.
Nigel added there are no fixed criteria when choosing a model, as the industry is becoming more accepting of a range of different looks.
The son of a former Miss Sri Lanka, Nigel rose to international fame after appearing on the UK-produced programme The Clothes Show.
Following modelling for Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Georgio Armani and Valentino, Nigel moved behind the camera to become a professional photographer.
He currently works from his studio - Studio NB - in New York City and promotes a range of charitable projects, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Humane Society.
