Tyra Banks and three ex-contestants of America's Next Top Model (ANTM) have done their bit for the environment, it has emerged.
As part of New York City's MillionTreesNYC Month, Tyra planted an oak tree on Manhattan's Ninth Avenue with some help from Saliesha Cooper, Claire Unabia and Jaslene Gonzalez.
They were joined by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, who declared April as MillionTreesNYC Month.
It is part of an initiative to plant one million trees in the city by 2017.
Fans will know that ANTM is now filmed in the big apple and the planting was also carried out to celebrate the 600th episode of The Tyra Banks Show.
Mayor Bloomberg said earlier this month on his official website that New Yorkers should feel encouraged to participate in the scheme, with each tree bringing the one-million mark closer and closer.
"I am happy to proclaim April as MillionTreesNYC month," he added. "Spring is a time of growth and renewal."
The Tyra Banks Show often features uplifting and heartwarming stories about real people but it also includes regular celebrity appearances.
Upcoming episodes include Tyra honouring "amazing mothers" and "true confessions of the male mind".
