America's Next Top Model - Show said to be helping the industry

The popularity of America's Next Top Model (ANTM) is helping would-be catwalk strutters break into the industry, it is claimed.
According to online magazine the Star, not only has the show spawned a range of similar series such as Model Life with Petra Nemcova and The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, but it has given girls insight into what working in front of the camera is really like.
Cilla Foong, who is a former model, said nowadays there are more agencies and opportunities for girls and admitted that she loves ANTM because of its "high standards".
Ms Foong explained that because Tyra Banks has a great deal of experience, aspiring models can learn lots about the challenges and obstacles faced by those trying to make it big in the industry.
"I think it's easier to be a model now," she added.
"The industry has grown so everything is taken care of for the model, from top to toe. They just need to turn up for the shoot. Times have changed for the better."
Fans of ANTM will know that although she is now widely known as a television personality, Tyra modelled for brands such as Victoria's Secret and CoverGirl.
