America's Next Top Model - Fashion dolls released to promote show
Wednesday, 20 February 2008
A total of four America's Next Top Model official fashion dolls have debuted in the US.
The dolls, which the TV Squad blog referred to as "the big new toy", are based on the US reality TV series and depict four fictional contestants named Sienna, Sidney, Paisley and Tascha.
Manufactured by MGA Entertainment - the company behind the popular Bratz fashion dolls and Rescue Pets - the dolls are set to debut this spring at US retailers, although they are already appearing on a selection of online shopping sites, including Amazon.com.
Each doll is rumoured to come with a selection of two outfits - swimwear and casual daywear - as well as an individual back story and a number of accessories, including two pairs of shoes, a compact, handbag and hairbrush.
Meanwhile, toymaker Mattell has recently launched its new Top Model line of Barbie products, which features Top Model Barbie and her friends Top Model Summer and Top Model Teresa.
The Mattell dolls are not officially linked with the Tyra Banks-fronted show, which begins its tenth cycle in the US tonight. The ninth cycle of the hit show is currently airing in the UK on Living.
