Monday, 1 December 2008
Ruth Lorenzo, who was voted off TV talent show 'The X Factor' on Saturday, is close to signing a record deal with Simon Cowell.
The Spanish singer - whose performances of Britney Spears' 'I Love Rock N'Roll' and Bon Jovi's 'Always' failed to impress viewers this weekend - admits she has a huge fan base worldwide and is excited about her future in the music industry.

Ruth, who met with Simon yesterday to discuss a possible deal, said: "I'm so excited about the future. I really think I can capture the Latin market, after all they love rock and that's what I do best.
"You will not believe the amount of messages of support I have had from Peru, Mexico, everywhere in South America. I have a fan club in the United States which is just amazing. It's crazy and amazing to have that support."
Ruth also revealed she is keen to stay true to her heritage and release a record entirely sung in Spanish.
She added: "I didn't want to sing Spanish during the competition because I thought it would be disrespectful on a British show. But of course I would love to release a Spanish album."
