Scrub up well

Thursday, 17 May 2007

If your skin feels old, dry or just in need of attention, then you can't go wrong with a home-made facial and body scrub.

For starters, you'll save a fortune on expensive beauty products, and you'll find out how easy it is to treat your skin using ingredients you could find in most homes.

Check out the recipes...

Almond honey facial scrub

Ingredients
2 tbsp – Very finely ground almonds
1 tbsp – Honey
1/2 tsp – Lemon juice

Method
1. To grind almonds use either a pestle & mortar or a rolling pin and a hard surface like a cutting board. Grind almonds as fine as you can.
2. Mix in honey and lemon juice.
3. Lightly scrub face with mixture on your finger tips and then wash off with warm water.

Your face will be clean and soft! Keep remaining scrub in a jar with a lid and store in a cool dry place, ready for next time.

Sea salt and almond body scrub

Ingredients
3 tbsp – Sea salt
1/2 cup – Almond oil
Water

Method
1. Place the sea salt into a bowl then add the almond oil.
2. Slowly add water to the mixture to make a paste.
3. Then you're ready to apply it – spread it evenly, leave for five minutes then rinse off.

But be careful, do NOT shave anywhere before or straight after using the scrub, as it might sting!
