Gray O'Brien's kilt dream

'Coronation Street' star Gray O'Brien wants to wear a kilt on the show.

The Scottish heartthrob - who plays Tony Gordon in the ITV soap - thinks his fans "deserve" to see him wearing the traditionally Scottish men's skirt.

He said: "I think the audience deserves to see me in a kilt. It's such a lovely, smart way of dressing, and so practical - not to mention very liberating."

Gray confessed he loves working on the soap because he likes providing people with entertainment.

He said: "Doing 'Coronation Street' means that you could be in someone's living room up to five times a week, and viewers really do feel like they know you.

"It's a very difficult thing to dodge, because the show is part of the nation - everyone watches it."

Gray also revealed he loves watching the show even when he is not in it.

He added: "The way it's written is just lovely. It's light and funny but there's real warmth in those characters, and I love watching them."
