Vin Diesel's xXx return

Vin Diesel's xXx return

Tuesday, 16 September 2008

Vin Diesel is set to star in another 'xXx' movie.

Both the actor and director Rob Cohen have signed up for the third instalment of the franchise, provisionally entitled 'xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage', despite neither being involved with the 2002 movie's sequel, 'xXx: State of the Union', which was released in 2005 and starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.

A script has not yet been written for the new movie, which is expected to be made through Colombia Pictures and will be produced by Joe Roth.

The first 'xXx' focused on an extreme sports athlete who is recruited by the US government to foil chemical weapons attacks on several cities around the world.

'xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage' is the latest in a series of sequels for the 'Pacifier' star.

He will be seen in the fourth instalment of 'The Fast and the Furious' franchise alongside Paul Walker when it hits cinemas next year and recently revealed he is planning to reprise his Richard Riddick character for two more movies, despite a poor box office performance to the second instalment of the 'Pitch Black' franchise, 'The Chronicles of Riddick'.
