Pink Floyd reunion vow

Pink Floyd reunion vow

Monday, 15 September 2008

Pink Floyd will never reunite.

The legendary band's guitarist and singer, David Gilmour has "categorically" ruled out a return for the rockers, saying he didn't enjoy the experience of their one-off show at 2005's Live 8 concert.

He said: "The rehearsals for Live 8 were less enjoyable. The rehearsals convinced me it wasn't something I wanted to be doing a lot of.

"There have been all sorts of farewell moments in people's lives and careers which they have then rescinded, but I think I can fairly categorically say that there won't be a tour or an album again that I take part in. It isn't to do with animosity or anything like that. It's just that I've done that. I've been there, I've done it".

David has previously said the most famous line-up of the band, Dave, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick Wright, may perform another one-off show.

He revealed: "Who knows? Who knows the future? I haven't absolutely said 'no' to the possibility but I think that in reality any sort of long-term thing together is not going to happen.

"We did the one-off thing and that was probably enough for me but we shall see. At my incredibly advantaged age - having achieved this - I've earned the right to sit on my a** for a little while and consider what to do next."

Roger left the band in 1985 and the band continued until 1995.
