The Who coat sale
Thursday, 4 September 2008
A coat signed by The Who is up for auction.
Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townsend scribbled their names on the parka jacket - a Lambretta-inspired replica of the coat on the cover of the band's cult album 'Quadrophenia' - which is being put on eBay to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT)

All proceeds from the sale will go towards building new wards for the Trust, which aims to provide youngsters suffering from the life-threatening disease facilities where they can be treated with people their own age.
Daltrey, who is a patron for the charity, said: "TCT units give our teenagers the moral support to help fight this terrible disease.
"It's great we've been able to open eight wards so far, but we need more of them so that every teenager in the UK can have access to one."
The auction will be held over 10 days from next Monday (08.09.08).
