The Ting Tings' Jazz studio
Thursday, 2 July 2009
The Tings Tings have converted a jazz club into a studio.
The group purchased the property in the favourite city of Berlin and plan to host impromptu concerts there to test out new material on their German fans.
Singer Katie White said: "We did the first album by throwing house parties.
We'd try them out on our drunk friends and if they danced we'd go 'Great, let's carry on!'
"We're gonna do the same in Berlin - that's why we've got the jazz club - so we can just stick a big plastic bag over the studio so it doesn't get beer on and experiment on some crazy Berliners."
The duo - whose debut album 'We Started Nothing' was released last year - can't wait to begin work on the new record as they have so many ideas they want to try out.
Drummer Jules de Martino added to BBC Newsbeat: "We've got all these hooks and licks we've been rehearsing in soundchecks and emailing and texting each other lyrics.
"We just kind of save them up and mash them all together and rock out."
