'Melodic' Klaxons

Friday, 29 August 2008

The Klaxons' new album will be "melodic".

According to the nu-rave act's producer, James Ford, the band are trying to give their next record a different sound to their debut effort, 'Myths of the Near Future'.

James said: "I think they're still trying to push forward so I don't think it's going to sound too much like the last record.

"They're trying to keep it melodic and vocal because that's one of their great strong points. It's going to be really exciting."

The producer also revealed his own band, Simian Mobile Disco, hope to release a new album before the end of the year and will feature several guest performers.

He added: "We've already done a track with Gruff Rhys from the Super Furry Animals, which is great, and one with Beth Ditto from The Gossip. It's looking good so far."

The Klaxons won the Nationwide Mercury Prize last year for 'Myths of the Near Future'.
