Green Day to return?
Monday, 13 October 2008
Green Day are working on a new album with Butch Vig.
The 'Basket Case' hitmakers are currently in the studio with the legendary Nirvana producer, his Garbage bandmate Shirley Manson has revealed.
Asked whether Garbage had plans to release any new material, Shirley told MTV's 'Last Call With Carson Daly': "I don't know, to be honest. We're sort of doing our different things. Butch is producing Green Day, so he's busy, so we'll see."
Green Day haven't released an album since 2004's 'American Idiot', but performed and produced material under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs last year.
It was rumoured in August that Butch - who as well as producing Nirvana's classic 'Nevermind' album was also responsible for Smashing Pumpkins' 'Siamese Dream' and AFI's 'Sing The Sorrow' - would be producing the band, though representatives for both camps refused to confirm or deny the story.
