Glastonbury's October sale

Glastonbury's October sale

Thursday, 28 August 2008

Tickets for next year's Glastonbury Festival are set to go on sale in October - eight months before the event takes place.

Registered fans can purchase weekend tickets for Glastonbury 2009 at the full price of £175 or reserve one for a £50 deposit from October 5. Fans who are not already registered can do so from September 1.

Explaining the new system, festival organiser Michael Eavis said: "We have come up with a scheme that will allow people a much longer period to plan and pay for their tickets, while still continuing the battle against ticket touting.

"At the same time the very successful registration scheme will ensure that tickets will only go to those named individuals who have reserved them in advance."

Fans who pay the deposit must pay the remaining balance by February 1 2009.

Glastonbury 2009 takes place at Worthy Farm, Somerset, between June 26 and 28.
