Akon's Jackson heartbreak
Monday, 1 December 2008
Akon was "heartbroken" when his song with Michael Jackson was leaked onto the internet.
The rapper scrapped plans for 'Hold My Hand' to feature on his new album 'Freedom' after it was made available to hear online months before it was due for release and says he was devastated to be unable to use the track.

He said: "It took all the excitement away. It was a heartbreaking moment for both of us.
"We wanted it to be special. We wanted it so that when people got my album, it was something that was never heard - a big surprise. But the leak stopped those plans."
Despite recently working with both Michael and Whitney Houston - and having songs from the recording sessions leak - Akon insists he has no idea when the troubled stars will release their long-awaited comeback records.
He added to Billboard.com: "With those types of artists you can't really say."
