Johnny Borrell's dropped track
Wednesday, 14 January 2009
Johnny Borrell has been snubbed by Florence and the Machine after a song he wrote for them has failed to be included on their new album.
The Razorlight singer penned the song with the band back in 2007 but the up and coming group - fronted by Florence Welch - feel it is probably not the right sound for their latest record.
A source said: "They worked together 18 months ago and Florence really enjoyed the experience.
"However, nothing really came of it. So it's very unlikely that the track will make the album."
Johnny previously claimed he wanted to keep his involvement with the band under wraps.
He said: "Florence and the Machine are friends of mine but I haven't really talked about writing songs for them before because the press always get the wrong idea and they're just starting out.
"They've been playing some of the songs in their live set for a while now."
