Yogi Bear: The movie
Friday, 3 October 2008
A live-action movie version of 'Yogi Bear' is to be made.
Warner Bros. chiefs have confirmed they are producing the live-action/CGI hyprid of Hanna Barbera's classic cartoon, which will be directed by 'Surf's Up' co-director and writer Ash Brannon.
Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia are to pen the script for the film, which is likely to be developed in a similar way to last year's 'Alvin and the Chipmunks', with it being mainly live action but with a CGI Yogi and side-kick Boo Boo.
The original cartoon series followed Yogi and Boo Boo's adventures in their home, Jellystone Park, and the problems they caused for Ranger Smith.
Yogi first appeared as a cameo character in 'The Huckleberry Hound Show' in 1958 and was given his own series three years later.
