Lindsay Lohan was "great to work with" on her new movie.

Despite a reputation for being difficult and a poor timekeeper, the 'Mean Girls' star's 'Labor Pains' co-star Kevin Covais insists she was a consummate professional throughout filming.

He told MTV: "Lindsay was always on time. And when they would call action she always had a way of sparking."

"If people just get the opinion that she's cold or she's tough to work with - it really wasn't like that. I don't know how she was on previous projects or whatnot, but I know for a fact that if there was any trouble on past projects with her she really did step up her game for this one. She did a great job."

Chris is not the first 'Labor Pains' star to praise troubled Lindsay.

Jay Thomas recently said: "I'm just guessing, but someone must have said to her, 'You better get your act together or else.'

"She was perfect. And she's a really good actress. I'm not just saying that because of the movie, but she really happens to be talented, and it looks like she's OK now."

Cheryl Hines has also praised Lindsay's work on 'Labor Pains'.

She said: "I had a great time shooting with her, and when we have scenes together we have a lot of fun improvising.

"It usually ends in a big laugh fest, and they have to cut because we can't talk anymore.

"It was what I expected. I honestly expected that she's gotten herself together, and really wanted to work and that's what she's showing us. I'm very proud of her."

Lindsay plays the lead role in the romantic comedy, about a woman who feigns pregnancy to stop her boss from firing her.
