Brandon Routh's Superman return
Monday, 13 October 2008
Brandon Routh is to continue playing Superman.
It had been rumoured that the superhero role would be re-cast following the disappointing performance of 2006's 'Superman Returns' but now bosses have insisted they intend to keep the actor in the title role - but won't begin work on it until plans for another 'Batman' movie are finalised.
DC Comics president Paul Levitz told Latino Review: "Last week Brandon Routh has come around the offices in New York and Los Angeles as of late to talk about 'Superman' and what we want to do.
"Everyone is waiting for Chris Nolan to sign on for another 'Batman', once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow."
Although no release date for the film has been announced, it is believed to be pencilled in for some time in 2012.
