Anastacia's music 'irritation'

Anastacia finds music "irritating" and has "never been moved" by a song.

The 'I'm Outta Love' singer - who has released four studio albums - insists music does not play a big part in her life, adding she would rather sit in silence than listen to a record.

She said: "This might sound unbelievable but I really don't like music. Music has never moved me. It doesn't do anything for me. To be honest, I find it irritating.

"I prefer silence to listening to a CD. Listening to music doesn't relax me and I find it hard to think straight when it's on. I've never bought a record in my life."

The 40-year-old singer admits she understands why some people download music illegally and does not think the industry will be able to stop it happening.

Anastacia said: "I understand why people steal music. If you're a teenager and all your friends are getting music for free, you're not going to be inclined to pay for it.

"We've got a whole generation who believe it's fine to take music without paying for it. How do we begin to re-programme the way they think?"
