Doctor Who´s Space Oddity

Doctor Who's Space Oddity

Thursday, 30 August 2007

David Bowie has agreed to play an alien in hit TV show 'Doctor Who'.

The rock veteran is set to play another space oddity when he appears as an evil alien kidnapper who abducts British author Agatha Christie in the year 1926.

BBC bosses believe Bowie, 60, is perfect for the part because of his great other-worldly look, and reportedly approached the star after they saw his impressive performance in 'The Prestige' last year.

Bowie's spokesman has refused to confirm the report, but an insider revealed the former star of 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' said he'd agree as long as he didn't have to sit through hours of disfiguring make-up.

The singer is the latest big name to take his turn in the cast of 'Dr Who'.Kylie Minogue is set to appear as a waitress on the Titanic in the show's Christmas special.

However, she has been sworn to secrecy over the plot.

A source said: She's quite talkative and would normally be more than happy to chat, but she has been ordered not to.

The BBC are trying to keep 'Doctor Who' as secret as possible. They don't want anyone to find out anything about what happens in the programme.

The role of The Doctor's sidekick in the opening episodes of the new series will be taken by British comedian Catherine Tate, who will reprise the role of runaway bride Donna, who she first played in last year's Christmas special.
