Matt Di Angelo's emergency treatment after Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals
Wednesday, 26 September 2007
Matt Di Angelo needed emergency medical treatment after he tore his knee ligaments during rehearsals for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former 'EastEnders' star - who has been axed as Deano Wicks in the soap - cried out in agony as doctors bandaged his leg and banned him from practising for three days.
Matt told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "One minute I was dancing and all of a sudden I was in pain. I pulled some ligaments in my leg and I've had to have physio.
"I'm out of action for a few days which is annoying as I've been practising hard. We've been doing four hours a day and it's really difficult.
"It makes 'EastEnders' look easy."
But the 20-year-old actor has little hope of winning the BBC reality dance show because he believes rival contestant Kelly Brook is stealing the spotlight.
He said: If I was going to put money on someone it would be Kelly. Every time I open a paper she's pictured in a skimpy outfit and there's just a few lines about everyone else.
"But the competition is really intense. Alesha Dixon and Gethin Jones are dark horses. I'd keep an eye on them."
Matt, Kelly and 12 other celebrities will begin battling it out on the dance floor for viewer's votes next Saturday (06.10.07).
