Simon scolds Louis

Simon Cowell has reportedly told off Louis Walsh for his comments about the Spice Girls.

Walsh had said the girl group was "past their sell-by date" and lacking in talent, but Cowell already had plans to book the girls on the show, the Sun reports.

"Simon was furious with Louis for slaughtering the Spice Girls. He really wants them to do a masterclass on one of the X Factor live shows and now fears Louis has blown it," a source told the publication.

According to the source, the girls had not yet decided whether or not to accept the offer and Cowell may "have to do a lot more grovelling to make it happen".

Gobby Walsh's latest target is boy-band McFly, who he recently claimed are not in the same league as Westlife and Boyzone.

On ITV1 programme The Truth About Boy Bands, he also said that their clean public images concealed hard-partying ways "behind closed doors".
