Marco Pierre White used to sell his fans' knickers to Gordon Ramsay.

The 'Hell's Kitchen' star received lots of underwear from female fans in the 80s and used to auction the raunchy gifts to the young chefs at his restaurant, who included Gordon.

Marco said: "Women used to send me their knickers and I'd sit there with my chefs going through the mail.

"I'd hold a knicker auction in the kitchen and Gordon was always the highest bidder. He'd hand over a pound and I'd give him the underwear."

Marco, the youngest chef to receive three Michelin stars, once turned Gordon - a trainee at the time - into a blubbering wreck after one of his infamous outbursts, and the have hated each other ever since.

However, Marco says chefs need to be tough and on his first day as a trainee he was called a "useless ****".
