America's Next Top Model - Tyra Banks wins BET award

America's Next Top Model creator Tyra Banks has been honoured for her achievements by US TV channel BET.
The first annual BET Honours, held in Washington DC, recognised a number of high-profile African Americans with "a broad range of achievements".
Tyra was recognised for her work on America's Next Top Model, as well as her modelling work and presenting duties on her US chat show The Tyra Banks Show, which has previously been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award.
Other honorees present at the awards ceremony included Time Warner chairman Richard Parsons, Grammy-winning recording artist Alicia Keys, the Honourable Maxine Waterns, who serves the 35th District of California in the US House of Representatives and Dr Cornel West, a professor in the Centre for African American Studies at Princeton University.
The awards were held in Washington DC and will air on BET on Friday February 22nd.
Meanwhile, today it emerged that Tyra has also been voted fourth-sexiest model by models.com. Other models in the top five include Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen and US Project Runway host Heidi Klum at number one.
