Dad blames mum for DUI Lindsay

The father of actress Lindsay Lohan puts the blame for his daughter's wild behaviour and recent arrest down to his ex-wife's influence.

And he believes that rehab is the only place for both of them if they are to curb the Hollywood star's destructive behaviour.

This follows Lindsay's arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing in the early hours in Los Angeles.

Police found a "usable amount of illegal narcotics", believed to be cocaine, on inspection of the crashed Mercedes.

Michael Lohan told the New York Post: "She (Lindsay) needs to go and my ex-wife (Dina) should go with her."

He added that he believed his daughter had not been helped by rehab at the Wonderland centre in Los Angeles, which she attended earlier this year, as the rules were not stringent enough.

The 20-year-old was allowed to check out of the facility and continue as an outpatient, while residents complained that she got "special treatment" at the clinic.

Mr Lohan agreed with that assessment, saying: "What kind of rehab facility lets people leave the grounds?

"They wanted the name Lindsay Lohan to stay there - they didn't want to help her. She needs a faith-based programme."

He added: "Lindsay needs to clean house and start all over again with the people with her in the beginning - her family."
