Bobby Brown claims he and ex-wife Whitney Houston "corrupted each other".
The singer - whose marriage to Whitney legally ended in 2007 - thinks both he and his former spouse were responsible for dragging each other into drug addiction.
He told US TV show 'The Insider': "I think we corrupted each other. I don't think she hurt me or I hurt her in anyway. I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and downs, and not many people understood it."
The 40-year-old star believes he and 46-year-old Whitney started experimenting with cocaine and marijuana because things weren't right in their marriage.
Bobby - who has a 16-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina with the 'I Look to You' singer - added: "I just think I was bored. I had just gotten married, and things weren't right and I turned to alcohol and drugs. Cocaine is a powerful drug. I used an awful lot and can't take that back."
Bobby's revelations come after Whitney told Oprah Winfrey in a TV interview that she and her then-husband would 'freebase' crack cocaine in marijuana joints at the height of their drug use.
She also accused Bobby of being jealous of her worldwide fame and
success in the early 90s when his own career began to falter in the wake of his 1988 hit album 'Don't Be Cruel'.
She said: "I think somewhere inside, something happens to a man when a woman has that much control or has that much fame.
"Emotionally he was abusive. Physically, no way."
