Spice Girls upstaged

Spice Girls upstaged by breakdancing Cruz

Friday, 29 February 2008

The Spice Girls were upstaged on the last night of their world tour by Victoria Beckham's young son.

The reunited girlband - Victoria, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C - performed their final concert in Toronto, Canada, on Tuesday night (26.02.08) but it was three-year-old Cruz who stole the show.

The toddler showed off his breakdancing skills, including a head spin, during the group's hit song 'Mama' - just as he had done two weeks earlier at their New York concert.

During the show, the girls spent a lot of their time hugging and kissing each other as they realised they may never perform together again.

An emotional Geri said: "This is the last night of the tour and we never dreamt we'd ever be back together and be such a success and who knows if we'll ever get back together again."

Group hug

As they closed the show with 'Spice Up Your Life' all five enjoyed a group hug before leaving the stage for the final time.

After the concert, the girls posted a message on their official website thanking fans for all their support.

They said: "Our time is up. We've come to the end of the road. There are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we've come!

"Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out to be this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true.

"Ten years on, you came back still wanting more and it looks like we made some new friends along the way. You have inspired and ignited us with each show. Each of the 47 shows we performed were amazing and it is thanks to you.

"Goodbye my friend, it's not the end, so glad we made it, time will never ever change it."
The Spice Girls tour started in Vancouver, Canada, on December 2, and the girls played to sold-out audiences across America and Europe.
