Spice Girls reunite again

Thursday, 5 June 2008

The Spice Girls took centre-stage at the Glamour Awards on Tuesday night.

Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton were there to collect the Band of the Year award. Victoria Beckham and Mel C failed to show up.

The Glamour Awards are voted for by readers of the magazine and recognise the most inspiring women in music, literature , TV, film, theatre and business.

Emma Bunton showed off her new hairdo and looked stunning in a sophisticated black maxi dress. She has just returned from the wedding of manager Simon Fuller.

Geri Halliwell also attended the Californian wedding. She told the Daily Mail: "They played Wannabe and I got left alone on the dancefloor like a wallflower.

"Fortunately someone from American Idol - Chris Daughtry - danced with me, thank God!.

"So I wasn't left alone during our song. Anyway, it was a relief! That would have been embarrassing!'

Mel B didn't attend the wedding but instead went on a romantic holiday with her husband.

She is currently recording a solo album with the help of Janet Jackson. She is also hoping to duet with Missy Elliott again.

Mel last teamed up with Missy Elliott for her debut solo track 'I Want You Back'. The 1998 track was her only single to top the UK charts after she left the Spice Girls.

The 33-year-old singer insists she isn't worried about going it alone again and is convinced she has the best people in the music business working on her third solo LP.

Mel told BANG showbiz: "I am not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now 10 tracks in to my new record."
