Russell Brand's Pride of Britain Awards wish
Wednesday, 1 October 2008
It looks like Russell Brand behaved himself last night at the Pride of Britain Awards.
The funny man usually has gorgeous models on his arm when he arrives at big events but he decided to invite his mum as his special guest last night.
She could very well deserve her own Pride of Britain Award after making sure that Brand behaved himself all night.
He told Mirror reporters on the red carpet before entering the venue: "I hope I will be recognised tonight as Britain's nicest, kindest gent."
When Brand was asked whether he would cry during the awards, he admitted: "I am here with my mum so I am already on the edge of tears."
He has just revealed that he will be playing the jester Trinculo in a new Hollywood version of Shakespeare's The Tempest.
Fellow comedian Lee Evans is also a big fan of the Pride of Britain Awards.
He believes: "It's nice to see the 'everyday' people who make this country so great get the recognition they deserve."
