Ringo Starr has walked off 'Regis'
Former Beatle Ringo Starr has walked off 'Live With Regis & Kelly' after he was told to shorten one of his songs.
Ringo was due to perform the cover track to his new album 'Liverpool 8' but was told he had to cut it dramatically. The musical director of the show wanted Ringo to cut the song which is 4 minutes and 15 seconds long to 2 minutes and a half. Ringo refused.
It is understood that there was miscommunication between Elizabeth Freud (Ringo's publicis) and the musical director.
Freud told The Associated Press in a statement,
"We offered to cut back our chat time and asked them to fade or go to commercial. They were not willing to do that and Ringo was not willing to cut it further, so without a compromise we were not able to stay."
"Ringo left saying, `God bless and goodbye. We still love Regis.'"
