Noel Gallagher will ditch Liam and go solo

Oasis star Noel Gallagher has announced his future plans, and brother Liam, or even their band Oasis don't appear to be in them.

The guitarist told US music magazine Billboard that he's already written his band's next album and has dreams of going solo later in his career.

Noel revealed that he is planning to do a solo album sooner or later, 'hopefully sooner, rather than later'.

He said: "I'm kind of hoping Liam might be arrested soon, and then I'll have time to see it through."

But before then, songwriter Noel is dying to release some new tracks even though new album Dig Out Your Soul was only out a few weeks ago.

He told told Billboard that new songs include 'I Want to Live in a Dream In My Record Machine' and 'Come On It's Alright', which he described as "psychedelic epics".

The Kinks

Noel said he planned to recruit a choir to contribute vocals to the tracks and said the new material echoed the work of The Kinks.

"They all seem to be based around the same four or five chords," he explained. "It's vastly different from what ['Dig Out Your Soul'] is."

He added: "There's stuff about soldiers and religious people and rock stars and travellers. They seem to be all songs about people, but not people I know.

"And they all seem to have a narrative; it's kind of like a story which follows on from song to song."
