Ex Spice Girl Melanie Brown has given birth to a baby girl in dramatic style as she had to drive to the hospital herself after her waters broke.
Instead of waiting for an ambulance, Scary Spice jumped into her car and drove over to St Johns Hospital in Santa Monica, California, as soon as she realised the baby was coming.
An insider told US television show Extra: "The first signs the baby was on the way came during the afternoon when Melanie's waters broke and initial contractions began.
"Melanie was on her own in the house at that stage so drove herself to the hospital, rather than spend precious minutes phoning an ambulance."
In a statement, Mel's publicist said: "The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. No name has been decided on yet and she is purely known as Baby Brown."
Mel's new baby doubles the size of her flock, adding another daughter to be little sister to Pheonix, aged eight, but both mother and baby are facing a paternity battle after Mel's ex boyfriend actor Eddie Murphy denied that he was the father.
