Lawyers know nothing of Guy Ritchie's Madonna split
Monday, 30 June 2008
The London legal team alleged to be representing Madonna's director husband Guy Ritchie in their rumoured divorce have denied having any involvement in the case.
The superstar couple has been plagued by rumours of a split for months.
But reports only really heated up when it was claimed the pair had begun to seek legal advice from top lawyers.
Ritchie was reported to have hired Mayfair law firm Forsters, who specialise in 'high net worth' family law cases, to represent him.
But a company spokesperson dismissed the reports, stating: "We are not acting for Guy Ritchie in this matter."
And Ann Northover, head of Forsters' family division, has reinforced the fact, adding: "I can only say I have no involvement at this moment."
Madonna, meanwhile, is rumoured to have met with Paul McCartney's high profile lawyer Fiona Shackleton.
She represented the the former Beatle during his court battle with Heather Mills earlier this year.
Shackleton's employer, Payne Hicks Beach, is refusing to comment.
