Lily Allen needs police protection

Lily Allen was mobbed by photographers during a shopping trip.
The singer is supposed to be in LA on business but so far seems to be doing little recording. She was sent to LA by her record company who wanted her to put the finishing touches to her second album.
They are hoping that her second album will be even more popular than her first. Two years ago Lily became an overnight success on social networking site Myspace. Her debut album 'Alright, Still' was nominated for a Grammy and was voted third best album of the year by Mixmag.
The pink-haired star has been photographed shopping on a daily basis since she arrived in LA. She has also been photographed getting her nails done in a salon on Melrose Avenue and going for dinner with Lindsay Lohan.
The Smile singer seemed pleased with the attention she was receiving when she first arrived and didn't have a problem with the paparazzi following her. One photographer even bought her an icecream during her salon visit.
Lily wrote on her official blog: "I have never been followed like we were today, there were literally 20 cars of paparazzi with us.
"Not that I'm complaining, they were perfectly pleasant. In fact, we had a bit of a laugh with them and I quite fancied one of them!"
Things have taken a turn for the worse in the last couple of days as Lily has been bombarded with even more photographers.
The 5ft-2 star has been surrounded by a scrum of paparazzi who have refused to move out of the way to let her walk.
Over the weekend Lily had to run to try and escape the men who wouldn't leave her alone.
The 23-year-old managed to make it to her red mini but was forced to ask for police assistance.
It is not known whether Lily will cut short her visit to LA and come
back to London early.
