The Atonement star has hit a rocky patch with her actor boyfriend.
Keira Knightley met Rupert Friend while filming Pride and Prejudice. The pair soon hooked up and they have been dating for two and a half years.
They live together in London with Keira's brother and his girlfriend.
According to The Daily Star, Keira and Rupert rowed after the Oscars. Keira failed to pick up an Oscar for her role in Atonement.
An insider told The Daily Star: "They had just agreed to go travelling for 3 months non-stop together when he accepted another film.
"So instead, they're having a 3-month break."
Keira recently told a plumber that she hates the celebrity lifestyle.
In January she refused to wear a ring Rupert bought her: "Rupert bought Keira this antique ring at considerable expense and while it's not an engagement ring, he intended it to symbolise their love for one another.
"But, as the face of Chanel, Keira has obviously been inundated with very expensive jewellery from its fine jewellery collection and has chosen to regularly wear one of its rings instead of the one bought for her by Rupert."
