1. Katie Holmes sent an audition tape filmed from her basement, with her mother playing the part of Dawson, to secure the part of Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek.
2. Katie was the only cast member of Dawson's Creek to appear in every single episode.
3. Katie is said to have fallen in love with Tom Cruise the moment he shook her hand. She is his third wife.
4. She was a premature baby and only weighed four pounds when she was born two months early.
5. She almost got the role of Buffy Summers in the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but she couldn't go to a second audition because it conflicted with her school play. She didn't want to let her school down.
6. She shares her birthday with Brad Pitt and Christina Aguilera.
