Pete to give Kate's TopShop launch a miss

Rocker Pete Doherty will skip the launch of his girlfriend Kate Moss' new fashion line, but only to make sure he does not steal the limelight.
The Babyshambles singer, who is notorious for his wild behaviour and his long-running battle with drug addiction, wants to make sure that the big day at TopShop's flagship store on Oxford Street is all about Kate.
A source told the Evening Standard: "He is very aware of his reputation and didn't want any of the focus to be on him."
Whether that would be the case is perhaps open for dispute as there has been huge interest generated in Kate's fashion line and the superstar model herself will be wowing shoppers by strutting her stuff in the window of the store as it opens.
Such is the anticipated demand for the cheap designer clothing, which Kate describes as "just stuff I wear all the time", that TopShop bosses have said they will limit customers to just five items each.
