Justin Timberlake is to produce new MTV reality show 'The Phone'.
The 'SexyBack' singer has been named as executive producer of the adventure series - based on a Dutch programme - which will see contestants battle it out for a cash prize.
Tony Disanto, the executive vice president of programming and series development for MTV, said: "Genre-busting and reinvention is at the core of what we do, and 'The Phone' does just that. Each week will be an action-packed mini-movie."
Each episode will begin with two hidden cell phones ringing at either end of a major city. The contestants who answer the phone will have five seconds to decide whether to play for the cash prize.
A guide on the other end of the line gives them a task to complete in a set amount of time. If they complete their mission, they win the cash prize.
The contestants will be followed by a helicopter camera crew during the show.
This is the latest career move for Justin.
The pop heartthrob's collaboration with Madonna, hit single '4 Minutes', has reached number one in 21 countries.
