Britney Spears' teenage sister Jamie Lynn gave birth to a daughter yesterday morning.
Maddie Briann arrived via Caesarean section at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb in Mississippi.
She weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces (3.5 kilograms).
A source revealed all to People magazine: "Just the family was there" at the time of the 9:30am birth, adding Britney's presence "made a big difference".
Britney had flown in from Los Angeles to help her sister yesterday.
Maddie Briann is the first child for the 17-year-old and her 19-year-old fiance Casey Aldridge, a pipe layer.
The Disney star stunned the Spears family when she announced her pregnancy news last year, at the age of 16. Casey proposed to his teen girlfriend in March.
It is thought they will get married in the next six months.
