Shock nomination for Jade in best mum award

A few surprises have made the cut for the shortlist of Celebrity Mum of the Year, with perhaps the biggest being Big Brother alleged racist Jade Goody.
After sparking an international incident over her ill-judged comments and racially-motivated bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on this year's Celebrity Big Brother, Jade may have been expecting to keep a low profile for a while longer.
But the nomination through a survey of 10,000 people by Grattan catalogue has put her in with a chance of redemption.
"Her big mouth got her into trouble," a spokesman for the awards said, "but the nation still thinks she is a mum to admire."
Jade will not be the only controversial mum on the shortlist for the award after Heather Mills McCartney, currently involved in bitter divorce proceedings from ex-Beatle husband Paul, and supermodel Kate Moss, who was involved in a drug scandal last year, both won nominations as well.
Other celebs up for the award include mum of three Victoria Beckham with her fellow Spice Girls Mel B and Geri Halliwell, and footballer's wife and ex-Eternal singer Louise Redknapp.
