Two friends (Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall) on a summer holiday in Spain become involved with the same painter (Javier Bardem), unaware that his fiery and volatile ex-wife (Penelope Cruz) is about to re-enter the picture.

It's well worth a watch to see the beautiful scenery, the ambivalent look at relationships and the chemistry between the cast.
This could well be Penelope Cruz's best performance as she plays Maria Elena, Juan Antonio's unstable former wife.
The New York Times describes Javier Bardem's character as a "snake in the garden, wrapping himself around the two women with blissful, insinuating, sensuous ease."
Movie fan Richard told Empire: "It's a beautiful looking film, with a solid cast. All of them gel together, I think Javier Barden is very understated and the film really goes up a gear when the chemistry of Penelope Cruz is added to the mixture.
"I thought Rebecca Hall and Scarlett Johansson were great as the two friends junxtaposed in their ideas from their travels of Spain. The music was really nice, authentic and gave a good atmosphere to the film.
Martin Blank added: "Highly enjoyable and very amusing this is the best Woody Allen film I have seen in a long time and along with Frost Nixon the best film I have seen this year."
