Girl crazy Eric Bana
Wednesday, 5 August 2009
Eric Bana has been a "hopeless romantic" since he was a teenager.
The 'Time Traveler's Wife' star found it hard to concentrate at school because there were so many girls he liked.
The 41-year-old star said: "I was always getting crushes on girls. To be honest I was a hopeless romantic. I love cars but I never went through a pure car stage. For me, girls were never off the table. I liked girls with a sense of fun. I was never into the more serious ones!"
Eric is now happily married to his wife Rebecca, and the couple have two "wonderful" children, Klaus, 11, and Sophia, eight.
But his own childhood in Australia was far less happy.
With a Croatian father and a German mother, the actor's family faced a lot of racist jibes when he was growing up.
He explained to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "My father endured a lot of racism. It was just that period in Australia. My dad's an unbelievable positive person but he probably had a hard time at work.
"I wasn't hassled at school, but I was probably on the cusp. I remember at school there were the Aussies and then there were the w*gs. I was 50/50. W*g is such a terrible word. So I never really fitted into either camp."
