Did Angelina Jolie need help to get pregnant?

Trying to get pregnant can be one of the most stressful things a woman has to go through. For many it takes months if not years to conceive a child.

It has long been rumoured that Jennifer Lopez spent years trying to get pregnant before giving birth to twins Emme and Max. Now the media are speculating that Angelina Jolie needed medical help to get pregnant with her twins.

A source told US magazine: "They (Angelina and Brad) conceived through in vitro fertilization, they both desperately wanted more babies soon."

The Wanted actress apparently used IVF so "she wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant, she could just knock it out."

When a woman goes through the IVF process her egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside the woman's womb. The fertilised egg is then transferred back into the woman.

One of the major complications of vitro fertilization (IVF) is the risk of multiple births...which has led to the rumours that Angelina could have used the process.

No doubt a denial from the Angelina camp can be expected in the next day or two.
