Cheryl Cole forgives cheating Ashley

It looks like Ashley Cole is back in doting husband mode as the England footballer treats his wife Cheryl Cole to a surprise meal at a swanky restaurant for her 25th Birthday.

The recently reconciled celebrity couple went to Chinese restaurant Wings in Manchester with friends including Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts and Cheryl’s mum Jo Tweedy.

It was their first public appearance together in months.

This marks a remarkable turnaround for the couple whose marriage appeared to be all but over following claims the Chelsea player had cheated on her with three women.

And though neither of them wore their wedding ring’s during the evening out, Cheryl couldn't stop smiling that the pair had patched things up.

Cheryl is staying at a hotel in Manchester filming TV talent show 'The X Factor' – on which she is a judge.

And she was more than pleased when Ashley arrived at the hotel armed with a huge bunch of flowers and a birthday cake shaped like a handbag.

A source said: "Cheryl was beaming from ear-to-ear when Ashley turned up. She didn't realise he was going to put in an appearance and was stunned when he arrived.

"She loves Ashley to bits and she wants to put all the stuff behind her."

The couple recently holidayed in Spain's Costa del Sol during a break in Cheryl's busy X Factor filming schedule.

Ashley was originally said to be upset about Cheryl's decision to take on the X Factor job and frustrated about the timing of the show, as it meant he'd have to scrap his summer holiday plans with her.
