Britney Spears to buy her own sex tape

Reformed pop star Britney Spears may be willing to splash out up to £5million to get her hands on the sex tape of her allegedly up for sale by ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.

The 26 year-old megastar is reported to be prepared to pay "whatever it costs" to stop the video being sold and plastered all over the internet.

Former lover Adnan Ghalib repotedly told Heat Magazine he had an X-rated video of the pair and was willing to sell it "at the right price".

But it now appears that Britney may be willing to offer that price.

A Daily Star source said: "Britney's lawyers have been working overtime.

"They've been told to do whatever it takes to stop the video making it onto the internet."

A spokesperson for Spears' record label would not comment on whether she would be making a bid.

However, all this is contrary to reports yesterday in which a source close to the singer denied the existence of such a tape to US showbiz website E! News.

Intimate footage of Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline has been doing the rounds on the internet for the past couple of years.

The star doesn't appear to be too bothered about the new tape though, preferring to talk about her forthcoming world tour instead.
