Boy George laughs off 'kidnap' accusations
Thursday, 3 May 2007
Former Culture Club singer Boy George has reportedly laughed off his recent arrest, according to his brother.
The 80s pop star was accused by male escort Auden Carlsen of handcuffing him to a wall after paying for him to pose for photographs.
But the singer's brother Kevin O'Dowd said: "The bloke (Carlsen) has done a fair bit of modelling for our clothes shop, so how can what he said be true?
"George isn't at all annoyed at the allegations, in fact, he think it's hilarious."
Boy George was arrested by police after Mr Carlsen alerted them from a nearby newsagent, claiming to have escaped from the flat by pulling the hooks from the wall.
The singer's brother confirmed his arrest, saying: "Yeah, he was arrested, but the police are always going to follow it up when someone makes a complaint like that."
Boy George has been released on bail while the police carry out further investigations into Mr Carlsen's allegations.
