Alan Carr's ITV deal?
Friday, 4 July 2008
Alan Carr has reportedly been offered £2 million to swap from Channel 4 to ITV.
The bespectacled comedian - who currently hosts 'The Sunday Night Project' alongside Justin Lee Collins and also found fame with his quiz show 'Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong' - is being charmed by bosses at ITV, who are keen for him to sign with them, it has been claimed.
An ITV insider said: "Alan is perfect for ITV and our viewers will love him. His 'The Sunday Night Project' is a hit and his quiz show went down really well too. He is the natural successor to other TV presenters including Paul O'Grady and Michael Barrymore."
However, Alan is unsure whether to switch his alliance, admitting: "Channel 4 have been wonderful and I am very loyal."
Alan is said to be keen to follow in the footsteps of Justin, who is branching out with solo projects including the 'Bring Back ...' TV shows, in which he attempted to reunite the cast of various hit shows including 'Grange Hill' and 'Dallas'.
A source said: "Alan is keen to become a major light entertainment star."
